  • Daniel Iyer, DVM, Practice Owner

    Dr. Daniel Iyer was born and raised right here in South Carolina. After practicing for nine years in Atlanta, specializing in small animal medicine, he helped start Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic in 2011 and became sole owner in 2019. He has always had a passion and deep love for all living creatures, which evolved into his pursuance of a veterinary career.
In addition to playing soccer and running track all through school, Dr. Iyer studied the double bass and played in the local symphony. He chose the University of Georgia not only for its excellent vet school but to further study music with a famed professor who taught there. He completed his undergraduate degree in microbiology and music performance in 2001, graduating magna cum laude with honors, and was accepted into the University of Georgia Veterinary Program, graduating in 2005. He completed additional training in Beverly Hills, California, with the distinguished veterinary cardiologist, Dr. Stephen Ettinger. Dr. Iyer is versed in echo cardiograms and routine ultrasounds. Besides his strength in general surgery, his other particular interests and expertise reside in orthopedics, especially cranial cruciate (ACL) and patellar reconstruction procedures.


    Currently he resides on Tybee Island, Georgia, with his wife and three daughters. Dr. Iyer enjoys outdoor activities, including mountain biking, skiing, golf carting, riding his one wheel and watching the Dawgs pursue another national title. He loves practicing in Bluffton and looks forward to growing with the city for many years to come.

  • Michelle Dickler, DVM

    Dr. Michelle Dickler has been an associate veterinarian at Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic since September 2018. After graduating from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine she worked as an associate veterinarian in Suwanee, GA for 2 years. She then purchased a small animal veterinary hospital in Snellville, GA. She owned that practice for 14 years at which time she sold the practice in preparation to move to the low country. She worked as a relief veterinarian for a few years while her son finished high school and then she and her family moved to Hilton Head Island and she joined the team at Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a special love for feline medicine and internal medicine.

    Dr. Dickler now lives in Bluffton with her husband Lyle who works part time as a consultant. She is the very proud mother of one son, Matthew, who lives in North Charleston and is the band director at Harleyville Ridgeville Middle School. She loves spending time with her family which also includes her three rescue pets; her two dogs Faora and Eve Teschmacher and her cat Henry. Her interests outside of work include Peloton, outdoor bicycling, swimming, boating, and traveling.

  • Emily Fulper, DVM

    Dr. Emily Fulper grew up on a dairy farm in Northeast Mississippi. During her years on the farm, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. In high school she was accepted into the Early Entry Program at Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine allowing her to streamline her education. She received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Mississippi State University in 2001 and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.

    After graduation, Dr. Fulper practiced in Little Rock, Arkansas for 5 years. She then decided to move to the East Coast. She practiced 11 years at Webb Animal Clinic in Rincon, GA. She joined the team at Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic in 2021. During her years of practice she developed special interests in feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, and wound care.

    Outside of work, Dr. Fulper enjoys cooking, going to the beach, gardening, and Pure Barre. She is an avid college football fan and loves the Mississippi State Bulldogs. She is a member of Coastal Therapy Dogs and visits nursing care facilities with her poodle, Blanche Devereaux. In addition to Blanche she has a very active husky mix, Rooster Cogburn, and Hazel Mae, another poodle who is in agility training. She also has 3 cats; Sampson, Lucy, and Andy.

  • Marlee Wilson, LVT, Office Manager, & Head Licensed Veterinary Technician

    Marlee, our office manager, is a licensed veterinary technician and has been with the Buckwalter family since September 2012. She moved to South Carolina after living in Indianapolis where she attended The Vet Tech Institute receiving her A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology. Her passion is the human-animal bond, and the influence it has on both sides, emotionally, physically, and mentally.

    When Marlee is not in the office she enjoys spending time with her family. Her husband Chris, Son Hudson, and Daughter Adley. Marlee enjoys going to the beach, walks in the beautiful Lowcountry, and riding her Peloton.

  • Michele Little, Veterinary Assistant

    Michele was born and raised in Ohio, she made her way to Savannah Georgia in her early 20’s. Michele attended Armstrong State University to work on her BSN. Michele began working at a veterinary office while in school, she felt veterinary medicine was more of her calling. Michele has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. Outside of the office Michele enjoys family; her husband Jerry (or Buck, which is what every one calls him), her daughter, four grandchildren and her horse, Wicked Willie. In Michele’s down time her passion is barrel racing Wicked Willie. She enjoys fishing and boating, and loves cooking and baking. In Michele’s words, “I wasn’t born in the South, but I got here as fast as I could.”

  • Tasha Anguay, Veterinary Assistant

    Tasha Anguay was born and raised on the island of O’ahu in the state of Hawai’i. Graduating from Lanakila Baptist High School and receiving an associates degree in liberal arts, she then married South Carolina native Isaac Brown while he was in Hawai’i. They relocated to the south in 2015 and have since adopted a calico kitty named Ninja. Having always had a passion for the care and well being of animals, Tasha first joined the veterinary work force as a kennel assistant in the early 2000’s and has never looked back.

  • Olivia Rho, Veterinary Assistant

    Olivia Rho was born and raised in Newington, Connecticut, moved to Hilton Head in 2013. She has been working with animals for 7+ years. She has 6 rescue fur babies that she and her wife, Natalie, have rescued together. Outside loving animals, Olivia loves to spend her free time at the beach and with her family and friends. Olivia has a new-found love of houseplants, and enjoys growing her mini jungle in her free time.

  • Kalee Arpin, Veterinary Assistant

    Kalee obtained her BS in Biochemistry from Georgia Southern University in 2021 and began working at Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic shortly thereafter. The favorite parts of her job include the constant learning environment and getting to know the individual personalities and needs of patients. In her free time she enjoys reading, doing word puzzles, and spending time with her husband, son, daughter, and their six dogs.

  • Paige Perreault, Receptionist

    Paige was born and raised near San Diego California. After attending vet tech school in Denver, she made the move to South Carolina to be closer to family. She is currently working towards her degree in cardiovascular sonography. School and work keep her pretty busy but in her spare time she enjoys reading, scuba diving and taking long walks with her bull terrier, Petunia.

  • Christie Myers, Receptionist

    Christie Grew up in New Hampshire and moved to Bluffton in the summer of 2013. She lives with her husband, daughter, her stepson part time and 5 rescue fur babies. She has always had a passion for rescue, and spends a lot of her time kitten fostering. She enjoys spending time outdoors, at the beach, sewing, baking, and spending time with her family.

  • Makayla Kight, Receptionist

    Makayla is a Lowcountry native, who loves all animals. In 2022 she rescued a geriatric pitbull named Poppy that quickly became her best friend. She loves to take Poppy to the beach, on long walks, and to starbucks. Makayla looks forward to advancing her knowledge in the veterinary field and learning new things everyday.
