The best veterinary experience I have ever had!I was in bluffton visiting family and my dog hurt his paw. I showed up first thing the next morning... at their door (at the recommendation of many of my families neighbors) and even though they were completely booked, Dr. Iyer made time to take a look at his paw and get him back to feeling himself quickly. He healed up in no time.The entire experience at Buckwalter veterinary clinic was 5 stars across the board.Great Vets, great staff, great people, great facility.I am now planning to bring both of my dogs down from Atlanta to see Dr. Iyer for their annual checkups while visiting family moving forward.Can’t recommend Buckwalter vet clinic enough!read more

After moving to the area I took my cat who suffers with CKD to Coa**al, who not only didn't weigh him or take his temp, or do anything for that... matter, but they attempted ONCE to draw blood and they did it from his neck KNOWING he is agressive and fearful. They did not have bite gloves or anything useful when handling a fearful animal, and they actually had me reach my hands into his carrier to get him out which resulted in puncture wounds and scratches from him biting and scratching me. He was obviously terrified and they handled it completely unprofessionally. Then charged me 70 dollars for the 10 minutes he was actually handled.Buckwalter however was a miracle. Dr Dickler and staff were so understanding of Binxs behavior and fear. They took his blood quickly and efficiently and when I saw Dr Dickler CARRY him in after his blood draw, without him hissing, biting or showing any otherwise type of fear, I thought he was sedated. No. He was just calm. Finally. This place handled Binx with the best I have seen. We found our place. Thank you Buckwalter.Alison, Matt and Binxread more

Went here to get a second opinion on my dogs tumor on his head. From now on, this is the only vet we will go to! Dr.Iyer agreed that the tumor needed... to be removed but he was able to do it without anesthesia since it was small (my dog has a history of seizures so I was worried about him going under). Our last vet wanted to put him under and charge almost double the price.They did it that same appointment (a Saturday) the next day, while they were closed, I got a message from Dr.Iyer asking how Marshall was doing, this impressed me so much! To know that he took time out of his day off to check on my baby meant the world to me! They got him in fast, his wound is healing great, and the incision was very clean! They were able to get the whole tumor off and it was sent off to be tested. Amazing doctors and staff!read more

I can't recommend Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic enough. Dr. Iyer and his staff are remarkable, patient, some of the easiest people with whom to work.... They're not only attentive to your animal, but they're prompt and respect your time when you have an appointment, which is easily my second most important criteria for a vet visit.We recently took our 10 year old Doberman/Rottweiler mix to Dr. Iyer for a CCL repair after not being particularly enthused about some of the local treatment options in Savannah. They took great care of our dog while she was in their care. Every time we came in for therapy or a follow-up, we were treated like a member of their family; from the front desk-staff, to the techs, to the doctors, everyone was kind and patient with us. My wife and I are incredibly grateful for everything BVC did for our pup, and for us.read more

A blessing that this vet was open Christmas Eve until 2:30 pm. My 15 yr old dog was behind me & I tripped backwards over him. Dragged him out from... underneath me and he was limping badly. Wanted him checked out & I got appt right away. He was checked & given pain medicine. It took a few days for him to get back to normal. He is fine now. Staff friendly & concerned. Dr was wonderfully kind & understanding. Highly recommend this vet.read more

Our bichons Elsa and Olivia have been going to Buckwalter for 9 years. The doctors and staff performed miracles on Elsa who had a life threatening... staph infection. They have given our Olivia who is blind and deaf the ability to enjoy her sunset year by prescribing appetite stimulants and pain relief. This clinic is a model for excellence in pet care. We’ve been taking our sweet dog to Buckwalter Vet Clinic for years now. I trust that this clinic truly cares about the health of every pet that they... meet. Our dog is 15 years old now and has had quite a few incidents over the years and everyone at this clinic has treated our pup with love and kindness. The DR’s and staff at Buckwalter Vet Clinic are very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. We moved to SC about 1 1/2 years ago. Our dog Abby has chronic... allergies and ear infections. Dr Dickler has been the only doctor to get these allergies and ear infections under control.Dr Iyer has also been treating Abby for shattered ACL as well as patella issues. He has performed surgeries on both Abby’s legs. The staff is so caring and very responsive to your needs. They communicate with you every step of the way and always there for you and your pet. Love them all lots. More importantly Abby loves them too and trusts them. I do not hesitate for one minute to call them when Abby needs them.read more

We were visiting Hilton Head from out of town when our dog ate a cooked chicken leg (she grabbed it off the counter... bad girl!) About 20 hours... later she starts showing signs she needed to be checked out. We called about 9 veterinarian clinics until we found this awesome clinic. The others wouldn’t help us or wanted to send us an hour and a half away. This vet office accepted us at short notice, worked us in, and took care of our Molly! Luckily, she is fine and should recover. We are insanely thankful for veterinarians like this one who help in times of true need! Thank you so much!read more

I was visiting the area (former local) and had an emergency happen to one of my dogs. Dr. Iyer and his staff took wonderful care of my dog especially... given the severity of the situation. He and his staff treat each animal as if it was there own. I was truly amazed when Dr. Iyer checked in the day following the surgery to check in on Scout. They treat all there animals there as if they are part of the family. I love that they pick up my baby and love on her. I recently moved back to the area and needed to find a Veterinary Clinic that could assist in grooming my 18-year old cat. His fur was matted and... needed attention. Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic was able to give us an appointment the following day. Additionally, due to my cat's age they took the necessary precautions to ensure he would be fine with the process. He has been groomed and appears to be doing well. The care and concern they showed from the moment I walked through the door to completion was very welcoming and the facility was very neat and clean.
